Happy Father's Day

We started off Father's Day yesterday by giving Daddy a nice long lie - (his very first request).  Whilst J was in bed reading the Sports section of the Sunday papers the children painted and decorated small boxes to give to him.  They all absolutely loved making them and it's always great to find a craft activity that spans the 2 - 6 age range equally.  It took a lot longer than just the morning though, and they were all worried that J would see them before they were finished which would ruin the surprise.  So I handily sprinkled the half-finished boxes with magic invisible powder whilst they sat drying on the table so Jamie couldn't see them.  My children really do have the most fab Daddy (today he made home-made fish fingers for tea!), so although as a family we're quite cynical about 'Hallmark' celebration days it was  actually lovely to devote a day to him.

If you want to make some too, we bought the boxes for £1.50 from Creativity along with a packet of multi-coloured gemstones for £2.50 and a sheet of glitter card for 85p.

  1. I think I need to get myself some of that magic invisible powder - there's a pile of laundry on the table which I just don't want to see!. Super cute boxes. xxx

  2. Oh indeed. Actually for some strange reason the laundry pile is always invisible to J!

Thank you so much for leaving a comment, they brighten my day.
